Our story


About Stek and our vision on food.

In 2014 we, Harriet & Lot, quit our office jobs to get started with our food dream. We love food & cooking, taking care of people, coffee (decaf for Lot), specialty beer, wine and croissants. When we are not at Stek we are at home with our husbands and kids. or we are eating somewhere nice and getting inspiration.

Stek has been a cozy place in Amsterdam East since 2014. A personal place where everyone feels at home. Our permanent team is happy to chat with you. We take food very seriously and you can feel that in everything.

Of course we love good food & drinks. But we are also constantly working on conscious and better eating. That is why we only work with beautiful organic products. And only with good suppliers as much as possible from Amsterdam and the surrounding area. In addition, we challenge ourselves to work as sustainably as possible. We make everything ourselves. Sauces chutney’s and jams and the cookies with the coffee. We enjoy it that way. No processed food at Stek and much less food waste.

Our suppliers

Meat and eggs come from the organic and sustainable Lindenhoff farm. Sausage we buy at Brandt & Levie. Together with Spot on Coffee Roasters we created our very own coffee blend. We buy our bread at the organic and artisanal Bakhuys bakery. The best cheeses come from Erik’s Delicatessen.
